Manufacturing of this WEC

The prefered material for this WEC is glassfibre reinforced polyester. This is a very known technology and is used with great succes in mass production of blades for wind turbines. The production demands for this WEC will infact be less comprehensive than the demands for manufacturing blades for wind turbines. The WEC can be made in long sections on shore and then put together near shore where after a tug boat can bring it to the decided location.

The pressure valves are intented to be made as a big hole over the tubes. This hole is covered by a light weight glassfibre sandwich sheet which is hold in position with two connections. This valve is very simple, gives very little pressure loss and costs very little. The suck valve can be made in some way the same manner as in the 1:40 model. That is the only forces on the sheet in the suck valve is air pressure and gravity.
