Test in real sea condition

In September 2007 a test in real sea conditions started up. The white hoses are only there for meassuring reasons as all the air flow is moved to one central meassuring point. The WEC is floating freely in the sea and only anchored in the tip.

The purpose is to test the energy production in different sea conditions and hereby create a power curve. The energy meassurements are made with both a traditional air turbine, where the produced electrical energy is meassured and also with a displacement turbine where the produced electical energy are meassured and beside that the moment and RPM of the turbine is meassured.

The energy production is also meassured with out a PTO as the produced air flow and air pressure.

The wave heights are meassured with a capacitive sensor connected to a laptop computer. This laptop continuously meassures every wave crest, wave trough and period time whereby every wave height and the significant wave height is calculated and logged.

In the back ground is seen a traditional fossil fueled power plant, that in the future probably will turn into a historical monument.
