Test in the wave tank at Aalborg University

On the photo below the WEC is beeing tested in the wave tank at Aalborg University in 6 cm regular waves and a period time of 0.9 sec.

The hoses on the top of the WEC is only used on this test model and is used to lead the air flow and air pressure to a central point where it can be meassured.

On a full scale or a near full scale WEC the turbines will be inside the WEC.

The wave height behind the WEC is app. half the height of the waves in front of the WEC. That shows that the WEC removes app. 75% of the energy from the waves. Test in the workshop wave tank shows that app. half of the removed energy is turned into mechanical energy. The overall efficiency from wave energy to mechanical energy is in average 29%.
